Over the next couple of weeks, you're going to be seeing some reviews of some… familiar games. Basically, because I'm ashamed to have never played so many influential games, I'm going to be spending the next month or so diving into the large stockpile of older games that I've never touched. Some are undoubtedly classics; some are probably not all that great.

My modus operandi will be to take a different look at some of these games and try to suss out the elements that people haven't really paid attention to. There'll be a good mix of retro games and newer releases. Here's my tentative breakdown of the games I'm looking to review, several years too late:

Final Fantasy VI
Pikmin 2
Beyond Good and Evil
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Deadly Premonition
Batman: Arkham Asylum
X-COM
Secret of Mana
Alpha Protocol
Half-Life 2

There may be a few that I'm forgetting, but in any case, we're going to start this off on Monday with a review of Beyond Good and Evil. Not the HD re-release… that hasn't even been released yet, silly!
