If you were like me and purchased your 3DS early, you'll have a nice surprise waiting for you when you turn on your system (and connect to the eShop) – 10 free NES games. Pretty cool, and even though the list has some strange choices, the ability to have two Zelda games, the first Metroid and Super Mario Bros. games on the go is prettttttty sweet.
None of this alleviates the concerns about the eShop. While the 3DS has definitely picked up steam on the retail side of things, the 3DS's original downloadable options are "lacking," to say the least. There's a grand total of four (4) non-DSi games, and two of those are 3D classics. That's pretty unacceptable in the modern age. Here's hoping that there's at least some interesting, original content scheduled for the eShop. In the meantime, I'm going to keep playing some of the greatest games (well, and some not-so-great ones).
