Remember how we used to have a News section? Well, Vigigames has outsourced it! Just kidding. But seriously, we have a new partner now in the renowned site Station 54, who's going to be providing all of our news coverage from now on. You can check it out by clicking on the link here, or by using the navigation bar on the home page.
Secondly, this week has been dubbed Metroid week, and just as I did with my feature on every Mario game in the main series, I'm going to be doing the same thing with Metroid in the lead-up to Metroid: Other M, which comes out August 31. I'm both damned excited and nervous for this game, so going through Metroid's history is calming my nerves somewhat.
Unlike the Mario feature, though, I'm going to be going through the Metroid series in chronological order in terms of narrative, rather than in terms of when the games were released. Today's coverage will start with the very first game in the series, the original Metroid on NES.
Finally, we're revamping the format of podcasts somewhat. To ensure that we have a regular stream of podcasts coming your way, we're going to be doing two different podcasts. The first version is the one you know and love (?), where we just sit down and talk videogames. The other one is going to be a Matthew/Christian joint, where we sit down with a game and give you our immediate impressions as we play the game. We're going to try to highlight weird, wacky, and/or under-the-radar games, and we'll be throwing a podcast your way this week on the never-before released Japanese NES game Uforia. Look forward to that!
