OK, things made out of plastic that aren't the controllers themselves are generally ridiculous. My girlfriend's nephew has a Wii Sports Resort Nerf pack, and they're just so cumbersome and ridiculous. Even the sword, which you would think would be kind of cool, isn't. It's just… annoying.
But there are a few peripherals that I own and that I want that are pretty damned cool. Generally, these peripherals are actual controllers of some sort, and not just shells, but there's a couple of those that are kind of neat too.
Beatles: Rock Band guitars
I already have the limited edition bundle that came with the Hofner bass and Ringo Starr's Ludwig drums, but these guitar controllers are just the fuckin' bomb. Especially that Rickenbacker. I have trouble justifying spending $100 on a fake instrument, but Beatles: Rock Band is far and away my favourite music game… tempting!
Wii Spray paint can
This isn't for an actual game that you can play on the Wii, but for an art installation. I'm just going to link you to the page where you can see this thing in action, because it's fucking cool.
Dragon Quest controller
This ridiculous, $180 monstrosity is only all kinds of hell yes and win, wouldn't you agree?
Steel Battalion controller
This thing came packed in with the game, and while I'm sure it wouldn't be too much fun trying to figure out this gargantuan… thing… it would be cool to use it as a DJ console!

Where's the love for the RE4 chainsaw?
Hell yes to the Dragon Quest controller!
Also, replaying old-school games has revealed the total necessity of a turbo controller. Once I make some more coin I'm gonna get me an NES Advantage!
[…] on the platform. Just think of all the money you'll save (and space), not having to buy a $200 monstrosity! (You only have to buy a $150 camera. That's a 25% […]
