It begins! This is thrilling news! I'll protect my ears with greater vigilance now!
Great first podcast. Thumbs up for giving Suda 51 the thumbs up; Killer 7 remains one of my favourite games from last generation.
As far as baditude goes, I was surprised that none of you mentioned the Saints Row series. Though not baditude in the sense of Marcus Fenix, Saints Row flaunts its baditude by pushing the human limit of trying to be too "gangsta." It's degree of baditude is definitely located on the spectrum way past it's welcome point, and has made for some of the most cringe-worthy moments in gaming.
I actually thought about Saints Row after the fact. I can just imagine the board room meetings about it:
THQ executive: "OK, let's think. Grand Theft Auto's already been done, but it's also a huge money mountain. How can we rip it off?"
Other THQ executive: "Well, let's make our own GTA!"
THQ executive: "But how?"
FOUR DAYS LATER
THQ Exec: "I've got it! It just needs to be GTA… but… more!"
Other Exec: "Genius, sir. Genius."
Isn't Tera Patrick an unlockable character in Saints Row 2?
[…] The other "big" release is… sigh… Dead or Alive Paradise, which allows you to take pictures of (read: stalk) the digital ladies of the Dead or Alive series. We talked about this subject at length (no pun intended) on our first podcast. If you want some auditory titillation before you, uh, go out and get this creepy, creepy game, check it out. […]
